Bolt app rejected? Here's why, and how we fix it.
Bolt gets you from idea to working app in an afternoon. App review is slower and pickier. Most Bolt rejections come from the same handful of gaps, and none of them mean starting over.
We discovered one or more bugs in your app. Specifically, the app displayed a blank screen on launch when reviewed on iPad.
Next steps: Please run your app on a supported device to identify the issue, then revise and resubmit your app for review.
Why Bolt apps get rejected
Bolt can start a project as a web app or as a mobile app built on Expo. Both can reach the stores, and both have their own traps.
- The starter app is still showingExpo projects begin with a starter layout. Its tabs, sample screens and example text often survive into review.
- A web app in a wrapperWeb projects wrapped for iPhone hit Guideline 4.2, the "just a website" rejection.
- Only tested in the previewBolt's preview isn't an iPad on a slow connection. Crashes and blank screens show up in review instead.
- Login before anything elseSign-in on the first screen, no privacy policy, and no way to delete the account.
- Stripe for digital purchasesFine on the web. A Guideline 3.1.1 rejection on iPhone.

What we fix
Every app is different, but these come up again and again:
We make the changes inside your own Bolt project and your own developer account. The app stays yours, and it's resubmitted from your account, not ours. If it comes back rejected, we keep going at no extra cost.
How long it takes
- Day 0You share your projectAn Editor invite from Bolt's Share button, plus the rejection message.
- Day 1We review itYou get a plain-English plan in your dashboard.
- Days 1–5We make the changesMost fixes take a few days. Bigger ones can take longer; we tell you up front.
- ThenResubmitted from your accountThe store reviews it again, usually within one to three days.

Questions about Bolt apps
Bolt made my app with Expo. Why was it still rejected?
Because review is about what the app does, not how it was built. Expo apps are real native apps, but they still need to be finished, stable on iPad, and follow the privacy and payment rules.
Do I need a paid Bolt plan to share my project?
No. Sharing works on all plans. And when we prompt inside your project, Bolt uses our tokens, not yours.
Can you work from a download instead?
Yes. Bolt can export your project as a zip, which you upload when you start your order. An invite is easier, because the changes stay in Bolt.
Can I keep building in Bolt afterwards?
Yes. Everything stays in your Bolt project. If a later update brings a new rejection, our care plan covers it.
Built with something else?
Your app, approved.
Share your project in two minutes. We review it within a day and get to work inside your own account.
