v0 app rejected? Here's why, and how we fix it.

v0 is brilliant at screens. Getting those screens through app review is a different job: reviewers want a finished app that works on a phone, keeps its promises and follows the privacy rules. That's the job we do.

RejectedGuideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness

We found that your app contains placeholder content. Specifically, several screens display sample data and features that are not yet functional.

A typical message. v0 apps also often get Guideline 4.2 (website in a wrapper) and 2.3 (screenshots that don't match).

Why v0 apps get rejected

v0 builds web apps on Next.js, and it happily fills screens with realistic-looking data before anything is behind them. To reach a phone, the app is usually wrapped. These are the rejections that follow.

  • Mock data that looks realLists, charts and profiles filled with sample content. Reviewers try to use them and find nothing behind.
  • A web app in a wrapperWrapping the deployed site without changes leads to Guideline 4.2.
  • Designed for a desktop browserLayouts that look great on a laptop but crowd or break on iPhone and iPad.
  • No privacy policy or account deletionOnce sign-up is added, Apple expects both, and generated projects rarely include them.
  • Screenshots that don't matchPolished mockups in the store listing showing screens the app doesn't have.

How to share your project with us

There are two easy ways, depending on your v0 plan.

If changes are needed on a free plan, v0 can push your project to a private GitHub repository (Project menu, then Settings, then GitHub) that you add us to. We guide you in chat if it comes to that.

When you start your order, we also show you how to invite us to your App Store Connect or Google Play Console account. It's a separate two-minute step, and we never ask for your password.

What we fix

Every app is different, but these come up again and again:

Mock data and placeholder screens
Features that exist only as screens
Web wrapper with no app-like feel
Desktop layouts on iPhone and iPad
Missing privacy policy
No account deletion in the app
Screenshots that don't match the app
Description that promises too much

We make the changes inside your own v0 project and your own developer account. The app stays yours, and it's resubmitted from your account, not ours. If it comes back rejected, we keep going at no extra cost.

Questions about v0 apps

Can a v0 app get approved?

Yes, once it's a finished app rather than a set of screens. The main job is usually making sure every screen a reviewer can reach actually works.

Do I need a paid v0 plan to share with you?

No. On the free plan, an "Anyone with the link" share is enough for our review. Edit invites are listed for Plus, Business and Enterprise plans.

Will you move my app out of v0?

No. We change what's needed to pass review and keep your project where it is. One thing to know: once v0 is connected to GitHub, the repository becomes the main copy.

Can I keep designing in v0 afterwards?

Yes. If a later update brings a new rejection, our care plan covers it.
